One day workshop to aware the youth community on health issues

One day workshop on various health issues affected currently to the youth in Sri Lanka, was held on 25.06. 2015 at the Auditorium of the National Youth Services Council – Maharagama with the direction of the State Ministry of Youth Affairs.
Around 200 trainees who are being trained in the institutions of National Youth Council, Department of Technical Training Institute, Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority, National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority, National Institute of Fisheries and Nautical Engineering , Ceylon German Technical Training Institute functions under our Ministry and Ministry of Vocational Training and Skills Development were participated. Here the lectures were issued under the topics of reproductive health education, venereal diseases, non –communicable diseases, good health habits and good food types, the reasons for increasing the suicides in Sri Lanka and Mental Personality Development.
Dr. Tilak Siriwardana, Director of Health Education Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Janaki Vidanapathirana Specialist, Dr. Chinthaka Perera and Dr.Thushani Henegama of National Mental Health Association were delivered the lectures in this workshop.
Mr. Gamini Wanasekara, assistant delegate of the United Nation Population Fund was graced this occasion as a special invitee. The financial assistance was provided for this workshop by the United Nation Population Fund.
